BIOS Update for Windows 7 (64 Bit) and Windows 8.1 (64 Bit) - Lenovo G40 - 45, Lenovo G50 - 45 Laptop

BLOG:

Lenovo released the latest BIOS of this series laptops.

Now according to Lenovo this BIOS will upgrade -

"BIOS, abbreviation of Basic Input/Output System, is integrated in ROM chip on main board, which contains the basic input/output program, system configuration information, system startup self-check and pre- setup programs. BIOS provides most basic low-level hardware operations; it is the connection between software and hardware, and interfacing window of hardware and operating system."

But this upgrade will also help us to enable AMD SVM.

Now what is AMD SVM or SVM ?

SVM is Secure Virtual Machine which allows virtualization, means very comfortably you can run any version of OS in any Virtual Environment.

Initially these laptops allows you to install 32 Bit OS, but with recent changes in technology we may not have 32 Bit OS in near future but configuration of this series laptops are of long term, then ???

With recent updates in BIOS not only performance will improve (tats what Lenovo are confident with), but will help in Virtualization too. Only thing we needs to enable is SVM in the BIOS.

AMD bought the Virtualization concept by the name of SVM but now its termed as AMD - V
